Still the E90 is heavier than the E46. I don't know which engine the 2007+ 328 got (the '06 330 or 325 - but likely the 255hp version), and if that's the case it would be quicker. Yes they are both 6 cylinder, a 325 is a 2.5L I6 that puts out about 184hp and the 330 is a 3.0L I6 that puts out about 220-230hp (cant remember the exact number). In terms of driving, a 330 will be noticeably quicker than their 325 counterparts. Have just purchased a 2001 330Ci. While looking for a car, I drove several 2000 323's, 328's and '01 and '02 325's and 330's. Honestly, I did not find a huge difference between the 323, 325 and 328. Now, keep in mind I did not drive them back to back, but sometimes within a couple of hours of each other on the same day.
