The warning light supplies a bit of current to get the alternator started. Without it, there will be no charging. Since the lamp does not light when you ground the D+ terminal, this points to a burned out bulb in the cluster or wiring between cluster and alternator. im had the same problem rear boot wiper motor was leaking replace it and all fixed and if i leave the boot open and lock the car will still lock so im pretty sure its that one also got some corrosion type of stuff around and on the handel does that mean a new boot door or can it be treated because i had the boot handle sprayed twice and the paint falls off [cry] Re: Fuel gauge; not working correctly (KMAKAZ_GTI) Pull out your sending unit, check your flouter to see if it's holding fuel, and turn on your key to on pos. and move the sending unit around and see where it catching and where it's not, look on your gauge, 2 ppl needed. Indicators are supposed to give a warning when they are on either audible clicking or flashing repeater in the dash. I'm not sure why yours doesn't make a noise. They are supposed to flash 1-2 times a second. 2010 Golf GTD (170) CBBB, 5 Door, Shadow Blue (P6/D5Q Under your steering wheel there are 2 screws, take them out and pull the panel off. It could be the relay. With MK4 golfs there basically all run on the same one. Have a look and feel if it's hot. My wipers and heaters and indicators stopped working, changed the relay and all was good. UZopm.
