All LTE models get their updates late. The GW3 has been better but with the GW I typically had to wait an additional 1-3 months. The RAM did feel like it helped a bit. At the end of the day if you are ok with waiting on updates I would get LTE since it seems that Samsung is getting better with their updates this year.

However, bare in mind that battery consumption is greatly increased if you're on cellular, so I wouldn't use my the watch for longer periods of time without being directly connected to a phone or a Wi-Fi network. Bluetooth LE is the best choice if you want to save power period.
